Practice
The Practice began in the British landscape and its agricultural buildings before spreading out to residential architecture and urban planning. This evolution has kept the practice responsive, agile and creative.

FOUNDATIONS
The foundations of TaylorHare began with architecture in a humble rural context, regenerating agricultural buildings as homes and commercial developments. This gave Tim & Chris a deep appreciation of the land – its heritage, local character and management – and allowed them to understand how connections are made between people, buildings and nature.
This sensitivity has been applied to sophisticated urban settings, creating opportunities and adding value that goes far beyond architecture but to the sense and spirit of a place.
Their designs respond to every setting, they start with the origin story of a place and take time to listen before beginning to draw. The practice derives satisfaction from meeting a challenge and loves to take an awkward space and release its potential, which means a lot of questions are asked and everything is examined from multiple viewpoints.
They work hard to integrate the old and the new where appropriate, always mindful of the need for sustainability and regeneration. Often it’s about taking the simplest ideas and putting them together in interesting ways. They striving to find a balance between architecture that is familiar and nostalgic, yet also innovative and contemporary.
Design choices are based on a genuine love of natural materials and crafted traditions, that represent a subtle nod to the practice’s rural humble beginnings however, refined details & finishes elevate the architecture to the highest of standards. Working along side experts in their field, whether they’re craftspeople or astute consultants TaylorHare ensure that every project is right for its individual setting and clients requirements.
