Shorelines
There is something magical about looking out over a horizon – the sparkle of the water as it catches the sun, the humbling perspective of its magnitude, the constantly varying moods of the shifting weather.
The process of designing on a shoreline is one of our favourite challenges.
These sites are often exposed to prevailing winds and require special measures for protection from the elements, such as strategic building orientation and resilient material selection. All of our offices globally are in coastal locations, with the European studios sharing a rich seafaring history that allows cross-pollination of ideas across projects.
